May and June offered several ways to volunteer, support community partners, welcome members, and prepare for the club's summer events.

May opportunities and club news

May 1	Rosa Parks School End of Year Carnival. Volunteers needed; details and timing still being determined.
May 14	Social Studies Spectacular, 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers needed.

DMM District Meeting. The third-quarter meeting was held May 1–2 at the Ramkota Hotel and Watertown Event Center, 1901 9th Ave. SW, Watertown, South Dakota. Registration was $80 if postmarked by March 31 and $85 after April 1. Friday included a pizza party; Saturday included a buffet breakfast, lunch, and the meeting.

May 26 regular meeting. The 5:30 p.m. meeting at Wow Zone was planned as a New Optimist Welcome Meeting.

June service, fellowship and planning

• June 5 — The club served as a $150 hole sponsor for the Sertoma of Mankato Golf Tournament at North Links.
• June 11 Trivia Night — All profits benefited the Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation and helped purchase a Pure Tone Audiometer hearing screener. The event ran 5 to 7:30 p.m. at $200 per team of two to four people, with a taco bar served before trivia.
• June 23 regular meeting — Members met at 5:30 p.m. at Wow Zone to put final touches on the June 25 bowl-a-thon, the July 21 Night at the MoonDogs game, and the August 25 Lincoln Park Nite-to-Unite project. Past Governor Gary Lambert was the guest and new members were inducted.
• June 25 bowl-a-thon — The second annual Home for the Holidays Bowl-a-thon ran 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Wow Zone. Hosted by the club and Wow Zone, it supported LSS Crisis Nursery Mankato Area and A Fresh Start.
